Bolton completed the signing of Israel skipper Tal Ben Haim in July 2004 for a small, undisclosed fee believed to be in the region of £150,000.

Ben Haim, a defender, joined from Maccabi Tel Aviv and signed a three-year contract after spending two weeks on trial at the Lancashire club.

He moved to the Premiership as a championship winner with Maccabi.
