Faye is a defensive midfielder who was signed by Iain Dowie for Charlton in summer 2006.

He has slotted well into the Charlton midfield, despite their poor start to the 2006/07 campaign.

Having already played in the Premiership, Faye joined Premiership newcomers Portsmouth in August 2003 for an undisclosed fee – thought to be in the region of £1.5m – from French side Auxerre.
