Jamie Carragher

Born: October 7, 1976
Birthplace: Lagoa da Prata, Brazil
Height: 6′ 3”
Weight: 12.9
Pos: M
Age: 30
After spending the majority of his career as a full-back, Carragher emerged as a central defender of real quality under Rafael Benitez in 2004/05.
The move inside was more out of necessity rather than tactical genius as Liverpool were woefully short on numbers at centre-back. But it could not have worked out any better.
Despite his consistently superb displays at club level, Carragher has struggled to win a regular place in the England side. Perhaps he has suffered from previously being seen as a jack of all trades, able to play in midfield as well as across the defence, rather than specialising in one position.
