Trabelsi signed for Man City after a summer of transfer talk linking him to every major club in Europe.

After falling out with Ajax coach Ronald Koeman, Trabelsi found himself marginalised in the squad and unwilling to sign a new deal with the Dutch club, and he moved to Stuart Pearce’s side on a Bosman free transfer in 2006.

Part of the Tunisian national team in the 1998, 2002 and 2006 World Cups, Trabelsi is considered to be one of the best right full-backs in the world.
