Davies’ future at Middlesbrough looks uncertain after he failed to progress, as expected, to become a first team regular.
After failing to make an impression in 2004/05 he was loaned to Championship outfit Queens Park Rangers in mid-January. He was hugely impressive in his four appearances for the Loftus Road outfit and after the end of the initial month it appeared the move would become permanent.
Rangers agreed a fee with Boro but the move broke down over the player’s demands. There appeared to be hope of the transfer being resurrected as Davies returned to the Championship side in mid-March, on loan until the end of the season.
