Defender Ramage was welcomed into the first team squad for the 2004/05 campaign after coming through the club’s ranks.
Ramage had impressed as a regular in the Magpies’ reserve side, leading to his debut as a 67th minute replacement for Steven Carr in a 4-0 hammering of Olympiakos in the UEFA Cup in March 2005.
The player, who can operate in the centre of defence as well as in either full-back role, enjoyed first team experience in the remainder of that campaign – his first start coming against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
