Taylor is a young defender who off the fine conveyor belt of stars which Luton appear to produce.
He only got his chance in the Hatters’ side when the club were in receivership in the summer of 1999 as they were forced to blood youngsters. He soon made the left wing-back slot his own and won the Young Player of the Year award in his first ever season as a professional.
Taylor had jumped straight from the club’s championship-winning youth side to the first team, making his debut on the opening day of the 1999/2000 season in a 0-0 draw at Notts County. He netted his first ever goal a month later in a 3-1 win at home to Wrexham.
