Young Irish forward Doyle started his career playing for Adamstown and his county, Wexford, before moving to his first professional club St Patrick’s Athletic in September 2001.
Doyle started playing for the club’s under-18 side but within months had made his League of Ireland debut.
Doyle then joined Cork City in February 2003, scoring 23 goals. He began playing on the right-wing but soon reverted to his natural position of striker.
