Another of Aidy Boothroyd’s first signings, Henderson was snapped up from Gillingham for only £450,000 the day before the first game of the 2005/06 season. His 14 goals (9 of which were headers) in 27 games helped the Hornets to 3rd position and Premiership glory.
A passionate player, Henderson is used in rotation with King and Young in attack, but provides a useful foil for their pace with his aerial ability.
Starting his career at Reading, Henderson found it tough to break into the first team until 2001/02 where he scored 4 goals in 24 starts.
