Heskey moved to Wigan in a £5.5 million deal in summer 2006, after a disappointing spell at Birmingham, culminating in the clubs’ relegation.

Heskey made his league debut for Leicester City in 1995, then made 30 appearances for the Foxes in 1995/96 – helping City earn promotion to the Premiership.
